My Grand Old Man's kidneys and heart failed today. He was about 15 years old, pretty old for a kitty. I blogged about him here, here and here.
Emotionally devastated; I don't have anything to say.

I had to put one of my cats down a few years ago. So, so hard.

One of our cats died in March - my younger son found him dead on the kitchen floor. We buried him straight away in the back garden with a teddy from when younger son was little. Seemed like the end of an era.
So I know how you feel.

I'm sorry for the absence of your Grand Old Man now. I've loved the cats in my life.
Cats know how to be themselves. I think back quite fondly about three, Mudshark, Sam and Gabrielle. I marvel while loving the cats living with me now, Alex and Barney, how every cat is sui generis. So missing very hard, my condolences, but you will always remember his special quality.

What a handsome cat! Having co-existed with cat’s for a long time, I know what it feels like to receive the boundless love, and lessons, (sometimes taught with infuriating mischief), that a cat can teach. They truly are reincarnated Zen masters... I know he will be missed very, very much.

belatedly: RIP, sweet boy.
now that i've come back to this entry in reflection, he passed on the anniversary of my grandmother, your mom's passing. spooked me, i cried. :(
you know now that i think about it, was it July 15th? or june? :(
