Daisy's Duck Dynasty rant (from Thursday's show)

Gregg and Scotty, my amazing producers, made it into a YouTube clip! :) (The whole show is at the radio blog.)

I really needed to get this cut and posted and a website and petition and Facebook page all ready to go using his name and "Duck Dynasty" Cut a satiric piece subtle enough to go unnoticed, and sell a shitload of stuff to their supporters.

You always think of the creative capitalist angle!

Do you have any clips or links to Sarah Palin and those other republicans you mention? Do you have any quotes from them saying that Robertsons "rights" were violated? Are any of them advocating that the government "do something"? Or is it that you just don't like them supporting Robertson? Are you just mad that they are publicly stating their opinions?

Anon, sorry I missed your comment... hectic holidaze and alla that.

Did you listen to the clip? All your questions are answered therein, so I guess not?

First listen, then reply to what *I* actually said. Thanks.

Daisy, it's me again. I just relistened to the clip just in case I missed something. But nope, you didn't quote any of them republicans actually advocating that the government step in and do something. What they did do is point out how hypocritical the left is being when they claim that business owners shouldn't have the right to their own property and money.

The Republicans have simply pointed out that you are inconsistent with what you claim to value, while at the same time they have repeatedly shown that they act consistently with their own values.

They have tried to convince A&E to VOLUNTARILY rehire Robertson. They have shown respect for A&E, and treated them with dignity, because they have supported the rights of the Owners to do what they want with their own property.

The Republicans have acted with integrity. Not once have they tried to use the violent power of the state to force the Owners of A&E to violate their conscience. They have simply tried to get the owners to change their minds by using peaceful means.

Why would they want them to change their minds? Doesn't the employer have the right to do what they want?

Who said they said 'govt should step in'? I didn't claim that? I said they back employers to the detriment of workers, so why are they suddenly on the opposite side? The reason is because they see Phil Robertson as speaking "for them" and their voter demographic. Its all very cynical and deliberate, proving they have no consistent ethics.

I am speaking from a workers right viewpoint. If you don't like workers rights, you are on the wrong blog. Bye.
