Fanaticon!

On Saturday, Me and Mr Daisy escaped our neighborhood's yearly colonization by the PGA tour, by going to FANATICON in Asheville, where these photos are from.

A splendid time was had by all.

Below:

1) I do not know which Star Wars this costume is from, and nothing is more uncool at a Con than asking a clueless question like that. So, I didn't ask, but if you know, speak up! Loved the child's shirt, which was perfect.

2) Supergirl and Wonder Woman. I always feel so much safer when they're around!

3) Dr Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts.

4) Little girl meets Dr Strange. Too adorable!

5) Falcon Lords (band) played in the courtyard. I loved the outfits.

6) Folks listening to the Falcon Lords.

7) One of the vendors, possibly an artist. I didn't get his name, but if you recognize him, please let DEAD AIR know!

8) Really, they need NO introduction. :)

OMG how FUN! I think I went to a Sci Fi Con in Boston w/ my cousin years ago. Those are fun. She got me an autographed pic of Nick Lea, aka 'Krycek' in X Files, at an XFilesCon back in the 90's.

So? Did you dress up?

I don't know what character it is from Star Wars, but in "Empire Strikes Back" & "Return of the Jedi", Boba Fett wore a very similar helmet and flight suit, except it was green, not red.

Looks like a lot of fun! We have ComiCon here, I haven't been to it yet, though.

You were in town?We could have had lunch together!Michael works in the building just down from Pac.We even used the parking deck Saturday (and saw some Jedi on the way up) to stop by his office.

We wanted to go to the Can,but we slept WAY too late,so we went to see Iron man 2 instead. We are thinking of going to DragonCon in ATL. in a few months. What about you?

Bryde, sorry we didn't connect! It was a spontaneous (more or less) decision, based on the presence of THE GOLF CHANNEL right outside our window.

We haven't yet decided on Dragon*Con, but Mr Daisy always goes to HeroesCon (Charlotte) and is now trying to talk me into that, too.

Don't know if you knew about it, but one of the people running for the Green Party presidential nomination in 2008 was kat swift. kat wore a Wonder Woman outfit as she ran. Here's a link to an article about her which features her in full regalia: http://www.sacurrent.com/news/story.asp?id=68690

Let me try to make that a link.

Try this link. If that worked, you should be able to click on the link to see the article about kat swift.

I was wondering if you dressed up too???

What IS the point of golf? Okay, I know what the point is: to knock the ball in the hole in fewer strokes than anyone else but why would anyone want to watch this happening?

Will Tiger Woods Ever Be A Superhero Again?

As mentioned the first picture is a variation of Boba Fett. Not sure what his/her variation is supposed to be but it looks like a cross between Boba Fett and the Emperor's Royal Guard (the guys in the red robes and hoods in Return of the Jedi).
