Elizabeth Edwards 1949-2010

It should have been her, not him. She was smarter and had the fire. We all knew that.

Speechless. She meant a lot to the progressives of both North and South Carolina.

Goodbye, Elizabeth.

What a beautiful picture of her. I always liked her. He was a bit fruity. And obviously a jerk. I bawled today watching a Diane Sawyer piece on her. About what she wrote in her book regarding talking to kids about someone who's passed. And that it's okay to talk about the deceased person and good too. It was beautiful. RIP Elizabeth. *sigh*

Daisy, did you mean to write, "it should've been her, not him"? B/c I think you meant it the other way around. And I agree!

I am so sad about this. She faced all of her adversities with dignity and grace. We could all learn a lesson from her.

I meant, she should have been the one to run for president. A friend on Facebook also misunderstood me, so maybe I should change it... but that was *my first thought* so I can't bring myself to do it...

She was the real politician, not him. Thats one important reason why we mourn her, she never got to do what she really wanted to do. She had to be "the politician's wife" ...

I know what you mean, but she was too good for that. To get that job you basically need the right kind of personality disorders to push on into it. He was perfect, with his helmet hair and his country club gloss and his poor-boy-made-good story.

Jim, you're so right! And Yellowdog Granny cuts right to the chase! ;)

I wrote about the book GAME CHANGE (page down; the account of the 2010 presidential campaign), in which Elizabeth Edwards (unfortunately) came off looking a lot like Hillary... but look where Hillary is now! She is helping to run the joint, and Elizabeth certainly never got that kind of gig. But she was obviously the one running the show.

It certainly will be interesting to see what happens to John Edwards now. I expect him to go off the rails bigtime.
