Blogger gets fancy

Techies and other blog-geeks may have heard: Blogger/Google has rolled out the fancy new "perspective changes" for Blogspot blogs. The official PR says these new and nifty layouts are "stunning examples of CSS3 and HTML5 Technologies"--whatever that is!

Here are the five new perspectives, and an example of my blog in each one. Which one do you like best?

Flipcard

Mosaic

Sidebar

Snapshot

Timeslide

I am somewhat partial to Mosaic, but Snapshot is also kinda cool. (However, it must be admitted that Sidebar is easiest to read.)

Would you prefer reading blogs in these formats?

Personally, I'm scared of them, since it seems like, often, "trying" a new format is a one way street...

This is "making it look more like tumblr or twitter," isn't it?

I'm already annoyed at (non-expanding) cut tags. I don't want to have to click through more than twice to see content.

(The offer turned up on my blogger page a couple of days ago, and I think I'm going to hit "Dismiss" next time.)

Grump.

Too much of my blog is lost on the periphery with these new views.

I don't get it.

i like mosaic except you can't change the image sizes. everything is *ginormous* and you can't modify it. meh.

If I had to pick I would say Timeslide but I am really not a fan of the format at all. Why can't they just leave well enough alone?

If I had more photos in my posts Flipcard would be my way to go.

Blogger also spat out a fancy ad that covered your comment page when I tried to click through to it.

I love your blog as it is, Daisy.

Mosaic terrified me. Too much Nikki Haley. I guess you must be inured to her by now, but geez!

I don't like any of them. Maybe I'm old-fashioned in my way, but if I'm going to read a blog, I want to read a blog, not be visually assaulted with some geek's vision of hyper-cleverness.

I kind of like Sidebar (probably because it's almost like a normal blog) but I'm not too keen on the ones that only really present the picture - when I skim a blog I tend to look more at the first paragraph to work out if it's actually about something I want to read.
Also worth noting, I'm using a fairly beasty (let's say budget-beasty) PC with an up-to-date Firefox, and Snapshot is still crawling really badly.

I think all of these are amazing...for someone else. I like the blogs the way they are. I know what to expect everytime I visit someone.

These all feel too cluttered with too much info. Not for me!

I'll be honest, I don't like any of them. They are all way, way too busy. Please don't change your format to one of the 5 examples.

I'm keeping my blog on the normal view, not mucking about with the new ones. My feelings are much the same as the other commenters!

I hate them all. Why fix something that's not broken? And I agree with YogaforCynics. I dont want my blog to look like a advertisement
